Derek's Story

Derek Garcia '22 took the time to teach STEM in Colombia.

I enjoyed every moment teaching young students the beauty of STEM. It was an amazing experience seeing students’ (11-14 year old) faces light up when they would get something to turn on or move.

I believe that GTL has opened my eyes in the avenue of perhaps teaching/mentoring students. I truly enjoyed interacting with the passionate students and would love to continue that sort of inspiration to young people.
